League of Asean Dermatological Societies
The LADS have a long history of presence in dermatology in the Asean region since 1974. It has its origins formed by a conglomeration of the national dermatological societies of the Asean countries namely:
- Indonesian Society for Dermatology and Venereology (PERDOSKI)
- Dermatological Society of Malaysia
- Dermatological Society of Singapore
- Dermatological Society of Thailand
- Philippines Dermatological Society
- Vietnam Dermatological Society (admitted 2006)
The LADS organises the Regional Conference of Dermatology (Asian-Australasian) once every two years in rotation among the founder member nations.
In 1986, the founder members of LADS formally signed a document at the 6th RCD (Asian-Australasian) called the Bali Declaration formally reaffirming their commitment and common interest in the development of dermatology in the region.
